Description Barvista
Barvista is a soft winter wheat variety developed by the Institute of Plant Protection named after V.Ya. Yuryev of NAAN and registered in 2018. It is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and Polissia regions. This medium-maturing variety has a vegetation period of 95-98 days and an average plant height of about 110 cm. It belongs to the erythrospermum type and is characterized by an intensive growth pattern.

Barvista is distinguished by high drought resistance and resistance to lodging, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. Particularly important is its enhanced resistance to the pathogen of powdery mildew, which contributes to maintaining yield and improving its quality. The potential yield of this variety is approximately 5.9 t/ha, reaching 4.08 t/ha in competitive trials.

Regarding grain quality, the thousand-grain weight is 44-46 g, protein content is 12.8%, and flour strength is 294 o.a. The overall baking quality score of the variety equals 9 points, indicating its excellent baking properties. Thanks to these indicators, Barvista is a promising variety for producing high-quality wheat flour and bakery products.
