The hybrid corn NK Ravello, developed by Syngenta Seeds S.A.S. (France), is an early-maturing simple hybrid with a maturity group of FAO 170. Plants reach a height of about 255 cm and have 15 leaves on the main stem. The medium-sized ear, 16 cm long, is positioned at a height of 111 cm from the base of the plant. The grain is semi-pearled, orange in color, with a 1000-grain weight of about 326 g. The average moisture content of the grain at harvest is 26.7%, and the grain yield reaches 80.8%. The grain contains 9.6% protein, 70.6% starch, and 5.2% fat, ensuring high nutritional value and technological suitability for grain use.
The NK Ravello hybrid is characterized by intensive early growth and rapid water release during grain maturation, which facilitates harvesting and reduces losses. It exhibits high resistance to lodging, enhancing yield stability. During the test period from 2006 to 2008, the average grain yield was 111 centners per hectare, with a maximum of 156 centners per hectare, and when grown for silage, the average dry matter yield reached 199 centners per hectare, with a maximum of 347 centners per hectare. The dry matter content in green mass is 31.6%, and the protein content is 8.5%, making the hybrid suitable for comprehensive use both for grain and silage.
In addition, NK Ravello demonstrates high cold and heat tolerance, enabling the preservation of 80-85% of plants for harvest even under adverse climatic conditions. The use of modern agronomic methods, including no-till technology and herbicides, significantly increases the yield of this hybrid. It is recommended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem region, where it shows stable and high performance.
