The variety «Vika LYGHOVSKAYA 28» is a highly efficient grain legume crop intended for cultivation in moderately continental climatic conditions. The seeds are characterized by high protein content (up to 30% of dry mass) and excellent digestibility, making them a valuable feed for cattle. The plant reaches a height of 60–80 cm, has a dense stem with broad leaves consisting of three leaflets, and the flowers are yellow‑white, appearing in mid‑summer.
Under optimal conditions (temperature 18–22 °C, soil moisture 60–70%), the yield of dry mass can reach 1800–2000 kg/ha. The crop prefers moderately dry soils with good drainage capacity, but it also grows successfully on clayey and sandy soils. It also exhibits cold resistance, withstanding low temperatures down to –5 °C during the sowing period.
Major phytopathological threats include fungal diseases (powdery mildew, powdery mildew) and bacterial infections, as well as pests such as aphids, caterpillars, and mites.
