Vetch NACRE

French Reliability in Every Hectare

When it comes to building a forage base, choosing Maisadour Semences seed material is about ensuring a stable ration. The 'Nacre' vetch variety is a prime example of French breeding working for results rather than just promises. In field conditions, this hybrid demonstrates the kind of predictability that agronomists working with high-performance livestock truly value.

Vegetation and Yield Characteristics

The main characteristic of 'Nacre' is its high plasticity. The legume nature of this variety ensures excellent biological nitrogen fixation, which significantly reduces soil load and subsequent costs for mineral fertilizers. In practice, this means the plant quickly gains vegetative mass, creating a dense canopy that effectively suppresses weeds without excessive chemical use.

Nutritional Value

During harvesting, 'Nacre' shows excellent flowability and uniform ripening. For haylage or hay preparation, this is critical: the absence of bare spots and even stem growth allow for feed with high protein content. Livestock consume this mass readily, which directly impacts feed conversion ratios. If you are focused on weight gain or milk yield, this variety is your tool for minimizing losses.

Operational Nuances

• Sowing: Requires standard seeder settings, but is sensitive to seeding depth — French genetics here demand precision.
• Maintenance: Minimal intervention. The variety is resistant to lodging, which greatly facilitates work for the combine operator during harvest.
• Economics: Seed consumption is standard, but due to high germination energy, field gaps are effectively eliminated.

'Nacre' is all about pragmatism. You won't spend extra hours fighting diseases or fixing uneven crops, provided basic agronomic norms are followed.
