Vika – a high-yielding variety of grain vetch intended for sowing in the Moscow region. It is characterized by high yield, resistance to diseases and pests, as well as good adaptability to the climatic conditions of the region. The variety is medium-early, with a vegetation period of 95–100 days, which allows planning sowing within the traditional season from March 1 to April 15.
Grain yield reaches up to 6.5 t/ha under optimal conditions, while green mass is 45 to 50 t/ha in mixed sowings with oats, wheat, and barley. The variety also ensures high dry matter harvests (up to 148.4 c/ha) and a protein-rich product: protein content is about 12–14%, making the grain suitable for industrial production of flour, bread, and cereals.
Vetch is distinguished by its resistance to flour moth, grey leaf spot, and fungal diseases, as well as its ability to withstand adverse environmental factors. This reduces pesticide costs and increases the economic efficiency of cultivation. When sowing, it is recommended to use nitrogen fertilizers at 10–12 kg/m², phosphorus at 4–6 kg/m², and potassium at 3–5 kg/m², as well as maintain soil moisture within 60–70%. The variety is suitable for both commercial and private farms, providing stable income and high product quality.
