Vegetable Pea Serge

German Breeding for Your Garden

The vegetable pea variety "Serge" from the German company Van Waveren Saaten is a well-established choice in the mid-early crop segment. Developed in collaboration with international originators like Pure Line Seeds and Alfa Tohum, this hybrid integrates European quality standards with high adaptability. Growers value it for its predictable performance and consistently high-quality market appearance.

Agronomic Profile

With a growing season of 65–70 days, "Serge" is an excellent option for those planning phased crop production. The pods of the "Serge" variety feature a distinct blunt shape and measure 8–9 cm in length. One of its standout traits is its large seed size: each pod contains 8–10 plump, succulent peas, ensuring high yields per unit area.

Disease Resistance and Potential

In modern farming, resistance to pathogens is a critical factor for success. "Serge" demonstrates strong immunity to Fusarium wilt and Ascochyta blight—the most common pea diseases that can devastate crop yields. By selecting this variety, farmers minimize the risk of yield losses due to fungal infections, which in turn reduces the need for frequent chemical treatments.
