Vegetable Pea Senator

Why Senator is the choice for those who value stable yields

The "Senator" pea variety by the seed company Sedek is a mid-season vegetable crop that has earned the trust of growers due to its combination of resilience and high marketability. Unlike many hybrid varieties that require perfect growing conditions, "Senator" demonstrates impressive resistance to environmental stressors, making it an optimal choice for cultivation in fluctuating climates.

Agronomic characteristics and performance

The key feature of this variety is its balanced plant biology. With a thousand-grain weight ranging from 180 to 200 grams, the plant forms robust, productive pods. You get consistent results: a pod 7–9 cm long contains 6–8 juicy, sweet peas. This density makes the variety attractive for both home canning and the fresh produce market.

• Pathogen immunity: The variety possesses pronounced resistance to downy mildew (peronospora), which reduces the need for intensive fungicide treatments. The plant effectively resists Fusarium wilt and Sclerotinia, maintaining healthy vegetative mass until harvest time.
• Efficiency: The plant features uniform pod ripening, which significantly simplifies the harvesting and sorting process.

Who is this pea for?

"Senator" is suitable for both small-scale farmers and private gardeners who value predictability. If you are looking for a reliable "workhorse" for your garden that does not require complex care but consistently delivers high-quality yields during the season, this choice is justified. It is less demanding than imported hybrids while providing excellent organoleptic properties. The core strength of "Senator" is its genetic resistance to fungal diseases, allowing growers to minimize chemical input into the soil and produce a more eco-friendly product.
