Vegetable Pea Marfed

Technical Profile: Marfed Vegetable Pea

The Marfed variety, developed by the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP of Ukraine), is a specialized vegetable pea cultivar focused on high yields of large-seeded produce. The agronomic profile of this variety is designed for structural consistency and high biological output.

Key Performance Indicators

• Vegetation Period: The crop cycle spans 230–240 days. This extended maturity period allows for steady biomass accumulation and superior seed filling.
• Pod Anatomy: The pods reach a length of 8–9 cm and feature a blunt tip, a design choice that facilitates mechanical harvesting and minimizes seed bruising during the threshing process.
• Productivity per Pod: Each pod typically contains 8–10 peas. This reflects a high fertility rate and efficient nutrient allocation within the pod architecture.
• Seed Size: As a large-seeded variety, the weight of 1000 seeds ranges from 280 to 320 grams, positioning it as a premium option in the vegetable pea market.

The technical advantage of the Marfed variety lies in its significant seed weight. With a 1000-seed mass of up to 320 grams, the variety provides excellent commercial yield efficiency. Developed by NUBiP of Ukraine, Marfed ensures reliable performance across diverse field conditions, making it a robust choice for growers looking to maximize output per hectare.
