Vegetable Pea Kreiser

Early-maturing peas for efficient production cycles

The 'Kreyzer' (Cruiser) pea variety is designed for growers who prioritize speed and a high-quality early harvest. With a growth cycle of just 48–52 days, this variety, developed by the Russian Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing, is an essential tool for those looking to capture the early-season market.

Field Application and Strategy

• Harvest Logistics: The variety is known for its uniform ripening, which is a major advantage for commercial operations. It allows for efficient machine harvesting, significantly reducing the downtime and the number of passes required in the field.
• Market Positioning: By reaching maturity in under two months, 'Kreyzer' helps farmers establish an early vegetable conveyor. This is critical for fresh-market growers aiming to supply retailers before the peak harvest period when prices typically drop.
• Best Practices: To hit the 48-day maturity target, focus on soil moisture management during the flowering and pod-filling stages. Given its genetic stability, the variety shows reliable performance, provided the irrigation schedule is strictly maintained.

The 'Kreyzer' pea is a pragmatic choice for agronomists who need predictability. Developed by a team of experienced researchers, this variety offers a standardized development timeline, allowing for precise planning of logistics, labor, and downstream processing. Its focus on early productivity makes it a cornerstone variety for optimizing land use in spring and early summer.
