Vegetable pea variety "Viking" is a mid-late or late-ripening variety with high yield and uniform maturity. The plant is characterized by a stem of medium length from 70 to 85 cm with shortened internodes and 19–22 non-productive nodes. The height of the first pod attachment is 55–65 cm. Leaves are large, green with a waxy coating and a grayish tint, stipules are of medium size with medium-density mottling. Flowers are white and large. The period from full germination to the beginning of technical pea maturity ranges from 60 to 79 days, which corresponds to a sum of active temperatures of about 1050°C. Pods in the "Viking" variety are paired, shelling, straight, obtuse-pointed, and green, 7–8 cm in length, containing 7–9 seeds. Seeds are brain-shaped, oval-angular, green, wrinkled, small or medium in size, with a mass of 1000 seeds ranging from 160 to 200 g. The yield of green peas from pods is 48–50%, and the mass of 100 seeds is 160–170 g. The taste qualities of fresh peas are good and excellent, making the variety universal for use both fresh and for processing and canning. The "Viking" variety is distinguished by high yield, reaching up to 10 tons per hectare or 47–58 centners per hectare of green peas. Due to its characteristics and qualities, it is suitable for cultivation in various regions and ensures a stable and high-quality yield. This vegetable pea is an excellent choice for farmers and manufacturers focused on the fresh market and industrial processing.
