VELIKAN

VELIKAN is a medium-early variety of vegetable peas with a vegetative period of 53 to 58 days, allowing for a quick harvest. Plants reach heights from 70 to 170 cm and have a climbing growth habit, so tying to a support is recommended for optimal development and easy harvesting. Peas are characterized by simultaneous fruit ripening and uniform size, which facilitates harvesting and subsequent processing.

The pods of the VELIKAN variety are long, wide, and slightly curved, without a parchment layer, making them especially convenient for consumption. Each pod contains 8 to 10 peas with a fleshy structure and a rich dark green color. Due to the lack of a hard film, peas can be used not only as grains but also whole with pods, expanding their culinary applications.

The variety is valued for its high taste qualities and dietary value, as it contains a significant amount of protein and sugar. VELIKAN is suitable for fresh consumption and also retains its properties well during freezing and canning. For planting, sunny areas are recommended, with a sowing depth of 4-6 cm and a plant spacing scheme of 15x30 cm, which promotes good development and high yields, reaching 0.8-1.4 kg per square meter.
