Early pea variety 'Idalgo' developed by the Dutch seed company Syngenta Seeds, with a maturity period of approximately 60 days. This crop is distinguished by high stress resistance and low maintenance requirements, allowing successful cultivation in open ground across various climatic zones of Ukraine. The plant reaches a height of up to 70 cm, has sufficiently leafy, sturdy stems and a well-developed root system, providing resistance to lodging and a broad spectrum of diseases, including immunity to Fusarium and yellow mosaic virus.
'Idalgo' pea features attractive dark green pods and seeds, which are uniform in size and shape. Pods are straight, up to 8 cm long, fully filled with round seeds, with about 7 seeds per pod. The seeds are large, uniform, with a tender texture and a pleasant sweet flavor that remains even when overripe. Additionally, the pea accumulates significant amounts of vitamin C and protein, making it both beneficial and nutritious.
The variety is intended for fresh consumption and is also excellent for canning and freezing. Due to its resistance and low maintenance requirements, 'Idalgo' can be grown without additional irrigation, simplifying agronomy and reducing care costs. The recommended planting rate is 2-3 kg per 100 m², allowing effective planning of sowings and stable yields of high-quality vegetable peas.
