Vegetable pea Amalfi is a medium-maturing variety that ripens within 60-65 days. The plant reaches a height of 50-60 cm and features a medium growth habit with a well-developed root system and standard leaf cover. Pea pods are 8-12 cm long and contain 6-8 uniform, large, round seeds of attractive color. The lower pod forms at about 13 cm height, and the number of nodes on the first raceme reaches 14. The 1000-seed weight is approximately 160 g. Pea Amalfi exhibits high stress tolerance to hot and dry conditions, as well as resistance to root rots and major pests, including fusarium. The crop prefers cultivation in open ground on light, loose, sandy loam or clay loam soils. Pea requires minimal irrigation and has a strong pod husk, allowing for mechanical harvesting. The plant blooms with white or cream-colored inflorescences, and technical maturity is characterized by a deep green pod color. High sugar content (not less than 6%) gives the peas a sweet taste with tender flesh, as well as rich vitamin and amino acid content. Pea Amalfi is widely used fresh, and is suitable for freezing and canning. Due to its strong pods and high seed quality, the product is excellent for processing and market sales. This variety combines high yield, resistance to adverse conditions, and excellent taste, making it popular among vegetable growers and consumers.
