Description BEARDED NANNY
BEARDED NANNY — medium-maturity sugar vegetable pea, forming a crop within 60-65 days from emergence. This variety belongs to the aphylly (leafless) types, where some leaves have transformed into additional "beards". Thanks to the vigorous development of beards, plants form a dense herbaceous layer, which significantly increases their resistance to lodging and allows growing the variety without support. Stem height reaches 70-85 cm, while pods have a length of 9-10 cm and contain 7-9 large, sweet peas of excellent taste and quality. The hulls of young pods lack a hard parchment layer, so the entire pod is consumed — together with immature seeds and fleshy, sweet hulls. Thanks to this, the variety is especially valued for the wonderful taste of fresh produce, which will be liked by both children and adults. Pods at technical maturity and green peas are suitable for easy culinary processing, canning, and freezing, making the variety universal for home use. For successful growing, it is recommended to soak seeds before sowing until they swell and sow them in open ground at a depth of 4-6 cm. Plants require timely watering, weeding, and soil loosening. BEARDED NANNY is distinguished by synchronized ripening and a long fruiting period, which allows obtaining a stable and high-quality crop of vegetable peas with superior taste characteristics.
