Turnip Palette

Consistency for Fresh Market and Long-term Storage

Developed by the Vavilov Institute (VIR), the 'Palitra' turnip is a strategic choice for growers prioritizing predictability and market quality. With a 60-day vegetation period, it provides farmers with the flexibility needed to plan sowing and harvest operations effectively, fitting perfectly into various crop rotation schemes.

Key Operational Advantages

• Marketability: The round, 300g roots provide excellent uniformity, simplifying grading, packing, and shelf presentation for high-end retail.
• Culinary Profile: The white, dense, and tender flesh maintains its crispness and mild flavor, making it a premium choice for direct sales and catering services.
• Storage Management: With a storage life of up to 4 months, 'Palitra' allows agricultural businesses to bypass seasonal price drops. Growers can hold stock post-harvest and release it into the market when conditions are more favorable.

From an agronomic perspective, 'Palitra' is highly reliable. Its ability to retain juiciness and texture over several months of storage makes it a standout variety for winter sales. Whether for fresh culinary use or as a storable asset, this variety balances yield stability with the specific requirements of modern food logistics.
