Turnip is a root vegetable from the Brassicaceae family, known for its cold hardiness and ability to grow on poor soils provided adequate watering. It has an oval or slightly flattened root shape, which is characterized by a dense and juicy structure. Turnips are rich in vitamin C, B vitamins, provitamin A, as well as minerals such as phosphorus, sulfur, and magnesium, making it a useful and dietary product. Due to its low caloric content and choleretic properties, turnips promote improved digestion and prevent stones in the genitourinary system.

The turnip variety "Palette" is characterized by medium maturity and high yield. The root crops of this variety have an oval shape, can reach a weight of up to 300 grams, and have dense, tender, and juicy white flesh. Thanks to its qualities, the variety is perfect for summer and autumn use, and is stored well until spring, making it convenient for long-term storage and use as food during the cold season.

To successfully grow turnips, it is recommended to use light neutral soils with obligatory liming of acidic soils. Important agricultural techniques include abundant watering, autumn fertilizer application, mulching after sowing, as well as regular weeding and soil loosening. Turnip seeds sprout at temperatures from +2 to +6°C, the optimal temperature for growth is about +18°C. Harvest can be collected 6–12 weeks after seedling emergence. To protect against pests such as cruciferous flea beetle and cabbage white, apply wood ash dusting and insecticide treatments.
