Turnip PURPLE PRIMORYA

Reliable Yields in Unpredictable Climates

The «Purpurnaya Primorya» turnip is a specialized development from the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production, engineered for those who demand consistency in early-maturing root vegetables. Unlike traditional varieties that often lose their crunch quickly, this hybrid maintains a firm, crisp flesh structure, making it a superior choice for both direct market sales and home storage.

Agronomic Traits and Adaptation

Designed strictly for open-ground cultivation, this variety shows remarkable resilience to temperature fluctuations. With a growing cycle of 60 to 70 days, it is highly versatile, fitting well into early-summer harvesting schedules. The roots, which exhibit a distinct round-to-oval shape with a vibrant purple hue, possess an excellent aesthetic appeal, which is a major advantage for commercial retail.

The Flavor Profile: Finding the Balance

The standout feature of «Purpurnaya Primorya» is its flavor equilibrium. It avoids the harsh bitterness found in wilder varieties while retaining that classic, piquant "turnip bite" that pairs perfectly with sweet notes. Its high density makes it highly resistant to over-cooking, ensuring it retains its integrity in soups, stews, and roasts.

• Target Audience: Market gardeners focusing on high-quality fresh produce and home growers needing a dependable, early-season crop.
• Key Strengths: Exceptional shelf life, market-ready appearance, and high-density flesh that doesn't go soft.
• Practical Tip: Consistent soil moisture is essential during the development phase to ensure uniform shape and prevent cracking.
