Tulip Trendsetter

Stability and Performance for Growers

The 'Trendsetter' tulip belongs to the Triumph class, making it a reliable asset for both commercial forcing and high-end landscaping. From an operational standpoint, this variety offers predictability: its medium stem height simplifies harvesting and automated packaging, significantly reducing physical damage during handling. The plant architecture is robust, maintaining its structural integrity throughout the supply chain.

Disease Resistance and Farm Management

A primary challenge in tulip production is the susceptibility to soil-borne pathogens. 'Trendsetter' distinguishes itself by offering inherent resistance to major threats, which optimizes chemical input costs:

• Fusarium and Verticillium Wilt: The variety's natural resistance reduces the need for heavy soil disinfection and post-harvest chemical treatments.
• Alternaria Leaf Spot: Minimal intervention is required to keep the foliage healthy throughout the growing season, which lowers labor costs associated with fungicide applications.

Operational Handling and Flower Quality

As a mid-season flowering variety, 'Trendsetter' is highly liquid in the market due to its striking bi-color pattern of red and lilac. For the grower, it is low-maintenance, responding well to standard fertigation protocols. The sturdy flower head is highly resistant to temperature fluctuations, which makes it ideal for cold storage. Even after cutting, the bloom remains tight and firm, preventing premature opening and ensuring optimal shelf life for retail and logistics.
