Tulip Turkistanica

A Botanical Aristocrat with Character

Tulipa turkestanica is not just another cultivar; it is a botanical species that has retained its pristine, wild grace. Unlike heavy garden hybrids, this tulip does not require annual lifting and can naturalize in the garden for decades, forming dense, striking clusters.

Why Choose This Variety?

• Early Awakening: One of the first messengers of spring, pushing through the soil as soon as the snow melts.
• Low Maintenance: Ideal for low-effort gardens or rockeries — this plant winters perfectly and is unfazed by the caprices of early spring.
• Prolific Bloom: A single stem can produce up to 10-12 flowers, creating the effect of an entire bouquet from one bulb.

The variety features pure white petals with a bright yellow base and an unusual grayish-green exterior. Its short stature (typically not exceeding 20-25 cm) makes it indispensable for foreground planting in borders or rock gardens. A potential drawback is its "sun dependence": in cloudy weather or at night, the buds close tightly, hiding their golden centers.

Tulipa turkestanica is the choice for those who value natural aesthetics and want a garden that doesn't require annual bulb replacement. It is the perfect plant for naturalizing beneath deciduous trees or as part of spring meadow plantings.
