Tulip Passionale

Technical profile of the 'Passionale' hybrid

Belonging to the Triumph class, this hybrid is a precision-engineered horticultural choice designed for both professional forcing and open-field production. Its physiological architecture is balanced, providing a medium height that ensures structural integrity and uniform growth patterns required for high-yield farming.

Phytopathological resistance as an operational asset

The core technical advantage of this variety lies in its built-in resistance to pathogens that typically threaten bulb crop viability:

• Verticillium and Fusarium Wilt: The genetic profile provides robust defense against these vascular pathogens, preserving bulb health throughout the storage and planting phases.
• Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV): The hybrid features advanced biological barriers that effectively prevent tissue deformation and pigment loss caused by viral infection.
• Cladosporium resistance: High resilience to this fungal pathogen reduces the need for heavy fungicide applications, ensuring sustainable crop management.

These resistance factors serve to minimize post-harvest losses and ensure a consistent yield of high-grade bulbs.

Development cycle and ornamental utility

As a mid-season flowering variety, 'Passionale' delivers a classic, high-density cup shape in a vibrant lilac hue. The petal pigment demonstrates significant stability against UV degradation, maintaining color intensity throughout the blooming period. The medium-stature morphology is engineered for uniformity, facilitating efficient mechanical harvesting and consistent bunching. The robust stem architecture prevents lodging, ensuring that the crop remains upright even in variable meteorological conditions, making it a reliable performer for commercial greenhouse and landscape environments.
