Tulip Jakarta

Stability meets elegance: Why «Jakarta» remains a professional favorite

The «Jakarta» tulip is a classic Triumph variety that has secured its place in the market by balancing striking aesthetics with remarkable biological resilience. Unlike many high-maintenance hybrids, this variety is prized by growers for its robust natural resistance to fusarium wilt and verticillium wilt, effectively reducing the need for intensive fungicide programs.

Morphology and Color Profile

This variety is defined by a sophisticated color palette—a deep, vibrant red base infused with subtle, regal purple undertones. Its medium-height stems make it a versatile performer, equally suited for organized landscape plantings and commercial cut-flower production. The flower shape is the iconic, dense Triumph cup, which retains its structure remarkably well during transit and retail handling.

Key Advantages for Growers

• Disease Resistance: Superior tolerance to common soil pathogens, significantly lowering crop loss rates.
• Reliability: As a mid-season bloomer, Jakarta provides predictable harvest timelines, crucial for commercial planning.
• Practical Care: The plant is structurally sound but performs best with moderate watering. Over-saturation during the active growth phase should be avoided to prevent stem elongation.

Jakarta is an excellent choice for commercial greenhouse operations looking for high-yield, disease-resistant stock, as well as for gardeners who demand high-impact visual results without the burden of constant disease management. It is a workhorse variety that does not compromise on its aesthetic appeal.
