Tulip Treasure

A Compact Statement for Your Spring Garden

The Greigii tulip 'Treasure' is the perfect choice for those who value low-growing varieties for front-border planting, rock gardens, or containers. Unlike tall hybrids, 'Treasure' maintains its neat structure even in the gusty winds typical of the spring season.

Color Palette and Characteristics

The hallmark of this variety is its striking combination of red and lilac hues, creating a beautiful play of light on the petals. As a mid-season Greigii tulip, it serves as the perfect bridge between early botanical varieties and the mass bloom of Triumph tulips.

Health and Resilience

The key competitive advantage of this hybrid is its high genetic resistance to diseases that often plague bulbous plants:

• Verticillium wilt;
• Fusarium wilt;
• Cladosporiosis;
• Tomato mosaic virus.

This resistance makes it low-maintenance, reducing the need for frequent fungicide applications. It is an optimal solution for garden plots with heavier soil where the risk of fungal disease is above average.

Who is this variety for?

'Treasure' is ideal for gardeners seeking a hardy plant with decorative foliage (often featuring the signature mottled pattern of the Greigii group). Its limitation is its height: if you are looking for cut flowers for tall vases, this variety may be too short. However, for landscaping and creating vivid “color carpets,” it remains one of the most reliable tools in any gardener’s inventory.
