Tulip Ida

A robust choice for professional cut flower production

The 'Ida' tulip belongs to the Triumph class, a category highly regarded in the professional sector for its perfect goblet shape and commercial viability. This variety is valued for its predictable growth patterns and a striking color palette: a deep, bold red infused with subtle lilac undertones that make it a standout choice for high-end floral arrangements.

Agronomic Advantages

• Disease Resistance: A key strength of this variety is its genetic resistance to Cladosporium, powdery mildew, and the cucumber mosaic virus. This significantly reduces the need for intensive chemical applications, lowering operational costs.
• Structural Integrity: The medium height of the stem ensures optimal sturdiness. The tulip does not droop under the weight of its flower, a critical factor for successful commercial harvesting.
• Seasonal Versatility: As a mid-season bloomer, 'Ida' allows growers to effectively manage their schedule, bridging the gap between early and late varieties.

Is this variety for you? 'Ida' is an ideal option for farms focused on high-quality cut flowers and for landscape designers looking for reliability. Its resilience makes it forgiving for those new to bulb cultivation, though professional growers will appreciate its ability to produce uniform batches when temperature regimes are properly managed during forcing. Whether in a greenhouse or open field, this variety remains a top contender for its consistent performance and aesthetic appeal in diverse spring conditions.
