Tulip Negrita

A Classic of Dutch Selection

The Negrita tulip has firmly established itself as the "gold standard" in the Triumph class. Emerging from years of development by Dutch breeders, this variety has remained a staple for both professional landscaping and commercial forcing for decades. Its reputation is built not only on its deep, saturated lilac hue but also on a unique biological resilience that sets it apart from many other cultivars.

Agronomic Potential

A key strength of the Negrita variety is its natural resistance to pathogens. Unlike many other Triumph group representatives, Negrita demonstrates a robust immune response to diseases that typically plague flower growers:

• Powdery mildew;
• Anthracnose;
• Downy mildew;
• Ascochyta blight.

This genetic defense helps minimize the need for heavy fungicide applications, making it a more cost-effective choice for growers and a sustainable option for eco-conscious producers.

Market Position and Use

With its medium-height, sturdy stems, this tulip is an ideal choice for both garden borders and professional floral arrangements. During its mid-season blooming period, it retains its elegant form even under the stress of spring winds or rain. For commercial producers, Negrita is valued for its consistency; it is a predictable crop that adapts well to various soil types and performs exceptionally well as a cut flower. It is the preferred choice for those seeking a perfect balance between aesthetic appeal and field reliability.
