Astra Primadonna is an impressive variety of perennial herbaceous plant, distinguished by large, densely double flower heads in a peony shape with a diameter of up to 11 cm. The flowers feature diverse coloring, including deep raspberry and burgundy-red shades, giving the plant a bright decorative appearance. The inflorescences consist of complex star-shaped structures made of numerous small flowers surrounded by large pink bracts. Tall, thin, and sturdy stems reach a height of about 75 cm, while compact bushes form rosettes of large palmate-cut green leaves up to 30-40 cm high. Thanks to its wind resistance and lack of need for support, Primadonna easily fits into various landscape compositions.
This variety of aster differs in its early flowering period, beginning to bloom approximately two weeks earlier than standard varieties, which allows extending the season of decorative flowering in the garden. Plants are resistant to adverse weather conditions, including rainy weather, and are not susceptible to fusarium, making them a reliable choice for greening. Low-growing and compact bushes are well-suited for creating borders, as well as for growing in containers on balconies and in the garden, expanding the possibilities for using this variety.
Primadonna is an excellent nectar source, attracting beneficial insects to the garden, which contributes to maintaining ecological balance. Additionally, the flowers keep well in cut arrangements and are widely used in bouquets, including dried flowers. Thanks to its decorativeness and practicality, the aster Primadonna will become a wonderful decoration for home plots, flower beds, and lawns, providing bright and prolonged flowering.
