Tulip Doctor An Wang

Practical Application of 'Dr. Eck Wang' Tulips

The 'Dr. Eck Wang' tulip, belonging to the Triumph class, is a specialized asset for commercial growers focusing on efficiency and market-ready aesthetics. Its defining characteristics—short stature and a rich lilac hue—make it a versatile tool for both greenhouse forcing and urban landscaping.

Key Operational Scenarios

• Greenhouse Forcing: Given its low height, 'Dr. Eck Wang' is an excellent candidate for high-density forcing. It minimizes the risk of stem breakage often seen in taller varieties, allowing growers to maximize shelf space in temperature-controlled facilities.
• Pot-Plant Production: The variety thrives in restricted soil volumes, making it a profitable choice for producers targeting the early spring potted flower market.
• Landscape Planning: In professional landscaping, this variety is used for borders and foregrounds where uniformity and a clean, saturated color are essential. Its mid-season bloom window allows it to bridge the gap between early and late-flowering bulb stocks.

Agronomic Considerations

As a member of the Triumph group, 'Dr. Eck Wang' features a sturdy, classic bloom shape that ensures excellent vase life and resistance to handling during logistics. When planning the production cycle, focus on rigorous temperature management during the cooling phase; this is vital for ensuring uniform stem height, which is the primary quality indicator for this cultivar. Proper fertilization during the bulb expansion phase will further enhance the vividness of the lilac pigmentation, ensuring a premium-grade final product.
