Aster Toreador

Spectacular Classic for Your Garden: 'Toreador' Aster

If you are looking for a perennial that combines the monumentality of a peony with the low-maintenance nature of a garden aster, the 'Toreador' variety from the 'Kapris' farm is the perfect accent to transform your landscape. Unlike annual asters that require yearly seedling planting, this variety is a reliable perennial ready to overwinter in the soil, significantly simplifying work for landscape designers and home gardeners alike.

What is the secret behind 'Toreador'?

• Impressive dimensions: A flower diameter of 10–15 cm on a stem up to 80 cm tall makes this plant the focal point of any flower bed.
• Versatility in use: Thanks to its peony-like/hemispherical shape, 'Toreador' is ideal for cutting. Dense buds stay fresh in a vase for a long time, giving them a distinct advantage over most other garden perennials.
• Multifunctionality: The plant looks equally harmonious in mixed borders or as a solo pot plant, provided the container is deep enough for the root system.

Who is this variety for?

'Toreador' is the choice for those who value predictable results. The 'Kapris' farm (originators: Kapris Farm and Vyacheslav Shepelev) has adapted this variety for those who want stable blooming without the hassle of winter protection. A potential drawback is the plant's sensitivity to soil fertility: to achieve the claimed 15 cm diameter, 'Toreador' requires regular fertilization during the budding stage. However, with proper care, you gain a "premium" floral aesthetic with minimal long-term effort.
