Tulip James V. Forrestal

Efficiency and Aesthetics in Parrot Tulips

The 'James W. Forrestal' cultivar is a staple for growers looking to balance visual drama with operational reliability. As a parrot-type tulip, it brings a distinct, ruffled texture to any collection, while its middle-of-the-season blooming schedule allows for precise production planning.

Resilience and Field Performance

From an operational standpoint, this variety is highly prized for its robust health profile. Minimizing the need for intensive chemical interventions is a key advantage, as the plant exhibits strong resistance to:

• Alternaria;
• Fusarium;
• Phytophthora.

By investing in proper soil preparation and moisture management, you can effectively utilize this resistance to lower your plant protection overhead. The plant maintains a medium height, which keeps it stable against wind damage without the constant need for support structures.

Visual Impact

The striking red and purple coloration, combined with the unique, erratic edges typical of the parrot class, makes this variety a premium choice for high-end floral markets. It is a productive, manageable, and visually stunning option for both protected and open-field cultivation when site conditions are met.
