The bright triticale variety Darchliba Kharkivskiy was included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2015 and is recommended for cultivation in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia regions. This medium-maturing variety has a vegetation period of approximately 90-100 days, plant height of 100-110 cm, and spike length of about 13 cm. Darchliba Kharkivskiy is characterized by increased resistance to lodging, shattering, and germination, as well as good drought and cold tolerance, making it promising for various climatic conditions, including organic farming.
The grain of this variety is large, smooth, with high milling properties, having a test weight of 768 g/l. Protein content is 13.0-14.0 %, starch — 66 %, and first group gluten — approximately 22-22.5 %. Flour strength equals 196 o.a., ensuring high baking and mixing properties. The overall bread quality rating of the variety is 9 points, indicating its excellent consumer characteristics.
The variety has high resistance to major diseases, such as powdery mildew, wheat rust, leaf septoria, and brown leaf rust, rated at 8-9 points. The yield potential of Darchliba Kharkivskiy reaches 8-8.5 t/ha, with actual yields ranging from 4.21-6.88 t/ha. The recommended seeding rate is 4.5-5.0 million seeds per hectare, with sowing dates being the earliest possible, with the option to sow during "February windows" in southern Ukraine. This variety is versatile and suitable for food use, ensuring stable yields and grain quality.
