Triticale Dostatok Kharkivskyi

Practical potential of spring triticale

«Dostatok kharkivskyi» is a breeding development from the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS. It has found its niche in farms that require a reliable feed base and high adaptability to challenging weather conditions. This spring triticale variety is chosen as a tool for crop diversification, particularly in regions where common wheat or barley might underperform due to moisture stress.

Agrotechnological features

• Plant structure: The plants reach 100–110 cm in height. This height is ideal for producing high biomass yields while maintaining sufficient lodging resistance.
• Primary usage: The main focus is intensive livestock farming. The crop is valued for its high protein yield and excellent grain nutritional profile.
• Practical scenarios: Farmers include «Dostatok kharkivskyi» in crop rotation to optimize labor and machinery schedules during the spring season. It is frequently used as a reliable insurance crop for reseeding winter fields that failed to survive the winter.

In field conditions, the variety demonstrates the stability characteristic of the Yuriev school of selection. It responds efficiently to nitrogen fertilization, allowing agronomists to adjust cultivation intensity based on specific goals: maximizing grain yield or harvesting for green fodder.
