The spring triticale variety CARMEN is a hexaploid plant of medium height with an intermediate semi-erect bush. Flowering time for the variety is average, and the 1000-grain weight ranges from 35.2 to 49.5 grams, indicating large grain size. The ear is white, medium or long length, medium density, and fully awned, with short or medium-length awns above the tip. Wax bloom on the flag leaf sheath is strongly expressed, and the density of hairiness at the stem neck varies from strong to very strong. The variety is characterized by uniform tillering and exceeds the average standard for resistance to lodging and shattering. CARMEN is recommended for feed use, including grain silage and grain hay production, and is suitable for universal application in animal husbandry. It forms significant biomass, which allows for the preparation of succulent feeds, including crushed grain followed by ensiling. The variety demonstrates high and stable yield on various soil types, including light, low-fertility, and acidic soils. In various regions, such as the Eastern Siberian and Far Eastern regions, average yield reaches 24.9-35.8 ц/ha, with maximum indicators up to 63.7 ц/ha in the Irkutsk region and 52.2 ц/ha in the Primorsky Territory. Under the conditions of the Vladimir region and the Amur region, the variety also showed high results, confirming its adaptability and productivity. Moreover, the CARMEN variety possesses resistance to fungal diseases and drought tolerance, which contributes to yield stability and reduced risks during cultivation. Its use contributes to increased and stabilized grain harvests, improved ecological conditions, and expanded agricultural turnover due to the inclusion of temporarily unused lands in production.
