Its genetic architecture is tuned specifically for the production of high-quality raw materials suitable for aromatic tobacco mixtures.

Agrotechnical parameters

The growing season spans 90–100 days. This classification as a mid-season cultivar allows it to capitalize on the climatic conditions of Ukraine, ensuring the leaf matures fully within the optimal light-exposure window. Nicotine content ranges from 1.0% to 2.0%. This moderate level allows the cultivar to function as an ideal "skeleton" component—providing the necessary base structure without overpowering the final blend with excessive intensity.

Disease resistance as a performance metric

A critical technical advantage of this cultivar is its inherent resistance to Peronospora (downy mildew). In tobacco production, this pathogen is a significant yield-reducer that compromises both physical leaf integrity and fermentation potential. By integrating resistance directly into the plant’s DNA, the 'Galician Original' minimizes the need for heavy fungicide application, ensuring better leaf quality and higher profitability per hectare even in high-humidity seasons.
