Tobacco "Anniversary New 142" – a mid-season variety with low nicotine content (around 0.63%) and excellent smoking properties. The plant has an oval shape, the leaves are elliptical and slightly pointed; they are yellow-green when young and turn to a golden-brown hue upon maturation, acquiring a beautiful brown color after air drying. Bushes 165–180 cm tall (up to 200 cm in some sources) bear 25 to 27 leaves measuring 40–43 cm in length and 22–24 cm in width, ensuring a good volume of raw tobacco.
The variety is characterized by high resistance to root rot, tobacco mosaic, and downy mildew. The yield is approximately 3.6–3.8 kg/m², and the period from planting to leaf harvest is about 105 days (80 to 110 days depending on conditions). Harvesting begins in mid-July: lower leaves are picked first, followed by the upper ones. The tobacco is dried with free air circulation without additional fermentation technologies.
"Anniversary New 142" is recognized as a quality standard among new tobacco varieties due to high ratings for taste, aroma, and sweetness (38–38.5 points out of 40). It is suitable for cigarette filters, roll-your-own cigarettes, cigars, and pipe smoking. Thanks to its low nicotine level and excellent smoking characteristics, this variety is popular among both beginners and experienced smokers, offering a balanced taste and pleasant aroma.
