Trapezond Kubanets is an early-maturing aromatic tobacco variety with low nicotine content (around 1%). It features excellent smoking properties: strength, aroma, taste, and sweetness are rated at 38.3 points. The plant has a cylindrical shape with large oval light-green leaves – typically 28–30 per bush.
The variety is resistant to root rots, tobacco mosaic, and downy mildew, ensuring a high yield of raw material of the first commercial grade (85–90%). Yield is 3.5–3.7 kg/m². For cultivation, sowing seedlings in late March–April is recommended, followed by transplanting young plants into open ground in mid-to-late May at a distance of 50–70 cm. Mid-July marks the beginning of tobacco harvesting and drying; before use, it is fermented.
Trapezond Kubanets is suitable for both cigarette production and smoking pipes due to its mild taste and pleasant aromatic profile. Its resistance to adverse climatic conditions makes it a popular choice among tobacco producers in various regions.
