TRAPEZOND 162 is an early-maturing tobacco variety with low nicotine content (around 1%) and high smoking properties, achieved through a combination of strength, aroma, taste, and sweetness rated at 38.3 points. The plant has a cylindrical shape, on which typically 28–30 large oval light-green leaves grow. The variety is resistant to root rots, tobacco mosaic, and downy mildew, ensuring a high yield of raw material of the first commercial grade – 85–90%. The yield is from 3.5 to 3.7 kg/m².
For growing TRAPEZOND 162, it is recommended to sow seedling seeds in late March–April. Before planting, fill the container with slightly moist soil consisting of three parts of sandy loam sod land and one part of well-rotted manure, then compact and level the surface. Distribute seeds evenly over the surface, slightly press them into the substrate, moisten with a spray bottle, and cover with film. Place seedlings in a bright, warm place, water through a tray, and ventilate daily by lifting the film for 30 minutes.
Young plants are transplanted into open ground in mid-to-late May at a distance of 50–70 cm. From mid-July, tobacco harvesting and drying begins. After harvesting, the raw material is fermented before use, enhancing its aromatic qualities.
TRAPEZOND 162 is suitable for both cigarette production and smoking pipes due to its high-smoking characteristics and pleasant taste.
