Agronomy and Handling

The core challenge and benefit of C-9 is its fruit-scented profile. To achieve a premium yield, management of the drying stage is critical. Here is what you need to know:

• Harvesting Routine: The variety requires a systematic approach to leaf priming. The leaves must be picked at peak maturity to ensure that the signature fruit aroma is fully developed.
• Drying Efficiency: C-9 is well-suited for traditional air-curing. It does not require complex climate-controlled chambers, which significantly reduces overhead and equipment maintenance costs.
• Handling and Durability: The leaf structure is resilient, but mechanical damage during the stripping process should be avoided to prevent premature fermentation at the site of the break.

The C-9 variety is easy to manage in the field. It responds well to standard soil moisture control, and the absence of complex maintenance requirements makes it suitable for both small-scale and intensive operations. Once cured, the product exhibits high shelf stability, provided it is stored in proper conditions, keeping the fruit notes intact for up to two years without degradation.
