Tobacco Symbol - 4

Cultivation and Performance of the «Symbol - 4» Variety

For growers specializing in tobacco, «Symbol - 4», developed by the Zakarpattia Institute of Agro-Industrial Production, serves as a reliable solution for creating aromatic blends. With a plant height of 150–180 cm, this late-maturing variety requires precise scheduling, as the harvest period falls later in the season compared to early-ripening types.

Operational Insights

Managing the crop involves careful attention to wind protection due to the height of the stalks. The medium-leaf structure is a significant advantage for field operations, as it simplifies leaf harvesting and allows for more efficient handling before curing. As a late-ripening variety, the primary challenge for the operator is monitoring soil moisture and temperature during the final stages of growth, which is critical for the development of the tobacco's aromatic profile.

Production Efficiency

• Harvest Logistics: The medium leaf size allows for optimal density in curing barns, ensuring consistent airflow and reducing the risk of improper curing.
• Usage: Specifically designed for high-quality aromatic blends, providing a distinct base for professional processing.
• Technical Maintenance: The variety is relatively low-maintenance, provided that the ripening schedule is strictly followed to retain essential oils.

Working with «Symbol - 4» requires patience during the long vegetation cycle, but the reward is a high-grade raw material that adds significant value to any aromatic tobacco blend.
