Table Beet Royal Celindra F1

Processing Standard: Why Choose Royal Cylindra F1

For farmers focused on industrial processing, selecting the right beet variety is a balance between yield output and labor costs. The Royal Cylindra F1 hybrid from Monsanto offers a solution that addresses the primary problem of the "cylindrical" beet segment: the tendency toward woody texture and uneven coloration. This is a breeding achievement aimed at producing a uniform, deep-red root without pronounced white rings, which is critical for high-quality canned goods and juice production.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

The main strength of this hybrid is its "immune shield." Unlike many cylindrical varieties sensitive to leaf spot diseases, Royal Cylindra F1 demonstrates robust resistance to downy mildew (peronospora). This significantly reduces the pesticide load in mid-season. Additionally, the hybrid shows high tolerance to:

• Cercospora leaf spot, which often decimates yields under high-humidity conditions.
• Powdery mildew, keeping foliage healthy until the moment of mechanical harvesting.

Who is this hybrid for?

This variety is not intended for the "fresh market bunching" sector, where small, round roots are preferred. Its domain is large-scale fields and processing facilities. The optimal root shape allows for maximum efficiency with grading equipment, and the high density of the flesh ensures the beet retains its structure even after heat treatment. A potential challenge is the need for precise seeding density: when over-sown, cylindrical varieties are prone to deformation, requiring accurate calibration of precision seed drills.

By choosing this Monsanto genetics, you get a predictable result: a high yield of marketable fraction and a root vegetable that is easy to peel and process, which directly impacts your business margins.
