Table Beet KAMUOLAIY 2

Focusing on Shelf Life: Evaluating the 'Kamuolyay 2' Beetroot

For growers focusing on long-term supply cycles, the choice of beet variety often comes down to balancing field yield with the ability to store the crop until spring without quality loss. 'Kamuolyay 2' is a practical, reliable variety for those planning bulk storage or supplying processing plants.

Field Operations and Harvesting

From an operator's perspective, this variety is predictable. Its uniform round shape is a significant advantage for setting up harvesters and minimizing mechanical stress during picking. The skin is sufficiently resilient, which reduces post-harvest rot and keeps the product in prime condition for the storage phase. In the field, it demonstrates consistent growth and resistance to deformation, even under varying moisture levels.

Storage and Processing

The main asset of 'Kamuolyay 2' is its durability. When kept in facilities with active ventilation, it shows minimal spoilage rates. For processors, the pulp density is ideal: it lacks distinct white rings and maintains a uniform color, making it perfect for industrial slicing or producing convenience foods. It provides high yield efficiency during peeling and cutting processes.

• Excellent geometry for mechanized harvesting and sorting;
• High durability and low spoilage during long-term storage;
• Dense, ring-free flesh suited for deep processing;
• Consistent quality guaranteed by professional seed production standards.

'Kamuolyay 2' is a pragmatist's choice. It is not about chasing early-season hype, but about the security of having a high-quality product in February and March that looks just as good as it did on harvest day.
