Gypsy Baron is an early-maturing variety of table beet, distinguished by flat-round root crops weighing from 160 to 400 grams. The root crops have a dark-red color with a grayish head and uniform, juicy flesh of a saturated dark-red shade. The variety is characterized by high commercial yield, reaching up to 7 kg per square meter, as well as resistance to Cercospora, which contributes to maintaining the quality and appearance of root crops during storage. The uniformity of the fruits and their attractive appearance make this variety particularly valuable for cultivation.
Gypsy Baron is excellent for culinary use. From the beets of this variety, one can prepare a rich red borscht, beet котлет (meatballs), and delicate salads with garlic, highlighting the versatility and taste qualities of the vegetable. For planting, seeds are sown from early May to mid-June to a depth of 2-4 cm with an optimal scheme of 8x25 cm. Growing seedlings is also possible: sowing at the end of April with subsequent transplanting of hardened seedlings into open ground after a month. Care for the plants includes soil loosening, regular fertilizing, and watering.
In addition, seeds of the beet variety Gypsy Baron can be sown under winter in late October – early November, which allows obtaining an early yield in the following season. Thanks to its characteristics and ease of cultivation, this variety is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking to obtain a high-quality and tasty product with high yield.
