Table Beet Detroit CL

Table beet variety Detroit CL is a medium-maturing French selection from the company Clause, intended for cultivation in open ground. The ripening period ranges from 90 to 120 days after emergence, allowing harvest in mid-late season. The plant forms round, well-shaped roots with smooth dark-red skin and absence of radial rings inside. Average weight of one root reaches about 250 grams. Due to high uniformity and marketability, this variety ensures stable and high yields, confirmed by practical cultivation experience. Detroit CL prefers loamy or chernozem soils with low acidity and well-lit areas. For maximum yield, regular watering, thinning, fertilization, loosening, and weed control are recommended. The variety exhibits high resistance to bolting and major leaf diseases, and tolerates drought and other stressful conditions well, thanks to its robust root system and abundant foliage. Planting rate is approximately 500,000 plants per hectare, with a sowing depth of about 2 cm and spacing of 30x60 cm. Detroit CL is versatile in use: suitable for long-term storage, processing, and fresh market sales. It has excellent taste qualities and practical cultivation characteristics, making it one of the most popular and widely used table beet varieties. Due to its characteristics and low maintenance requirements, Detroit CL is an excellent choice for both professional farmers and amateur gardeners.
