RUSSIAN VITYAZ

The "Russian Vityaz" eggplant variety belongs to mid-season types and is ready for harvest 120-125 days after germination. The plant is semi-spreading, low-growing, reaching a height of up to 1 meter, which makes it suitable for growing in film-covered greenhouses and greenhouses. The stem is pubescent, without anthocyanin coloring, while the large green leaves have a smooth surface with a strongly wavy edge. For successful seed germination, the optimal soil temperature is 25-28°C.

The fruits of the variety are pear-shaped, of medium length and large diameter, with a dark purple, strongly glossy skin. The mass of one fruit varies from 250 to 450 grams; the flesh is greenish and absolutely bitter-free. Medium spines are present on the calyx of the fruit. The yield of marketable fruits under film cover reaches 7.4-7.6 kg per square meter.

Sowing for seedlings is recommended at the end of February with pricking out at the cotyledon stage, and seedling planting is carried out at the end of May. To form the plant, all side shoots and leaves up to the first fork should be removed, leaving 5-6 of the largest ovules on the plant; the remaining flowers and ovules are removed. The planting scheme is 40x60 cm. Thanks to its characteristics, the fruits are excellent for stuffing, grilling, and making eggplant caviar.
