Boro F1 — a mid-season hybrid of table beet, developed by the Dutch seed company Bejo Zaden, with a vegetation period of approximately 110–115 days. This hybrid is characterized by high cold tolerance, allowing seeds to be sown in early spring or late autumn. Plants grow well under moderate soil moisture and show resistance to diseases such as alternaria and cercospora, as well as to bolting and sharp temperature fluctuations. The leaf rosette of Boro F1 is well developed, and the tight attachment of the tops to the root makes mechanical harvest easier.
The roots of Boro F1 have a round, even shape with a smooth dark red skin and a rich, bright red flesh without rings. The skin is thin and easily peeled, both raw and after heat treatment. The flesh is juicy and sweet due to high sugar content. The hybrid has high yield potential — 60–80 tons per hectare (6–8 kg per square meter).
Boro F1 beet is suitable for long-term storage, fresh consumption, and processing. It is widely used in the food industry, including for juice and natural dye production. Thanks to its superior qualities and resistance to adverse conditions, this hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers and food producers.
