Fodder beet BAGRIANYI

Processing-Grade Excellence: The «Bagrianyi» Beetroot

Developed by the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NAAS, the «Bagrianyi» beetroot variety is tailored for agricultural enterprises focused on industrial processing. Unlike standard fodder or multipurpose varieties, this cultivar is characterized by its high structural density and lack of zoning (rings), making it an premium choice for canneries and juice manufacturers.

Key Operational Advantages

• Uniformity for Automation: The roots are highly uniform in shape and size, which significantly reduces downtime and waste on mechanical peeling and slicing lines.
• Superior Pigmentation: The deep dark-red flesh retains its color consistency even after thermal processing, ensuring a high-quality end product appearance.
• Post-Harvest Versatility: Beyond its primary use in processing, the variety demonstrates excellent storage capabilities. It maintains turgor and quality in climate-controlled facilities, allowing producers to extend their processing season well into the spring.

For agronomists and farm managers, «Bagrianyi» is a strategic asset for achieving high yields of dry matter and pigment content. Its adaptability to Ukrainian soil conditions ensures consistent performance, while the absence of light-colored rings minimizes rejects during the initial processing stages, directly increasing operational efficiency and profitability.
