Fodder beet EGYPTIAN FLAT

Technological features of the "Egyptian Flat" variety

Czech breeding house Moravoseed offers a solution for producers focused on long-term storage and consistent marketability. "Egyptian Flat" is a classic mid-season table beet variety with a vegetation period of 100–110 days, demonstrating high adaptability to diverse soil and climatic conditions.

Root morphology and internal quality

The key feature of this variety is its shape and internal structure. The round-flat configuration of the root allows for maximum space efficiency during storage and simplifies the cleaning process. A major advantage for agricultural producers is the absence of pronounced white rings on the cut: the flesh has a uniform, deep dark red color. This is a critical factor for food processing plants and the fresh produce market, where aesthetic quality is paramount.

Practical application and agronomy

• Maturity timeline: technical ripeness is achieved in 100–110 days, allowing for efficient harvest planning and consistent supply chain management.
• Storage capacity: the genetics provided by Moravoseed are focused on storability — the roots retain their turgor and flavor throughout the winter season when stored at optimal temperatures.
• Planting density: the variety responds well to intensive cultivation techniques, producing uniform roots when provided with optimal spacing.

This variety serves as a reliable workhorse for farms seeking predictable results without unpleasant surprises like light-colored rings or root deformation. Utilizing professional seeds from Moravoseed ensures high germination energy and uniform emergence, which are the foundations of a successful harvest.
