Bagryanets is a mid-late variety of table beet, distinguished by high yield and excellent taste qualities. The period from germination to technical maturity is about 133-136 days. The roots have an elongated-conical or round shape, are smooth, dark-red or burgundy in color, without ringedness. The weight of one root varies from 290 to 450 grams, and the diameter reaches about 10 centimeters. The flesh is very sweet, juicy, and tender, with a dry matter content of about 20%, total sugar of 11.7%, and betanin up to 200 mg per 100 grams. The root core is homogeneous, without rings.
The variety combines the best qualities of sugar and table beets: the root shape resembles sugar beet, while the color and taste resemble table beet. Thanks to this, Bagryanet is ideal for preparing borscht and other dishes, as well as for consumption with mayonnaise. The plant is resistant to diseases and stores well, which makes it convenient for mechanized harvesting and long-term storage. The yield from one hectare reaches 35-47 tons of premium product.
In addition, the variety possesses high frost resistance and resistance to bolting, which ensures stable yield and marketability. The roots are uniform, which facilitates their canning and storage. Recommended for cultivation both in household and in farming enterprises. Regular consumption of Bagryanets beet contributes to a reduction in cholesterol levels in the blood, which makes it beneficial for health.
