Originator:
Institute of Plant Growing named after V.Ya. Yuryev. Entered the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine and Russia since 1992. Trial characteristics: Variety — Small-seeded Chrenka. Has a short stem 90-120 cm due to reduced internode length. Heads are large, flat or slightly convex with slight inclination, diameter up to 24 cm. Huskiness 22-23%, shelliness 99.0%. 1000-seed mass 53-65g. Biological features: Hybrid belongs to the ultraprecocious group, vegetation period duration 90-95 days. Distinguished by low stature — plant height 90-120 cm, uniform and synchronized flowering and head alignment, high resistance to lodging. Drought tolerance — medium, shattering resistance — weak. Has genetically determined resistance to wolf, false powdery mildew; resistant to wet and white rot, resistant to Phomopsis. Hybrid for oilseed use. Yield and quality: In the competitive trial of the Institute in 1991, average seed yield was 32.0-39.1 centners per hectare. High yields were obtained under production conditions in the S.A.O. "Mayak" of Valkovsky district, Kharkiv region, collecting 27 centners per hectare. Oil content in seeds 49-52%. Oil yield 13600-1550 kg per hectare, higher than standard by 112 kg per hectare. Motherline yield 8.1-13.2 centners per hectare. Percentage of conditioned seeds 65%. Parental lines are sown simultaneously on hybridization plots.
