Ecaul — a mid-season, triple-line sunflower hybrid adapted to the Express technology, with a vegetation period from emergence to physiological maturity of 115–117 days. The plant is robust and tall (170–180 cm), well-leafed, with a large round head of 17–19 cm diameter, which is half-tilted downward, preventing moisture accumulation during seed filling and drying. The hybrid exhibits high tolerance to new strains of false powdery mildew, Phomopsis, sclerotinia, and genetic resistance to aggressive strains of downy mildew. It shows excellent auto-fertility and high resistance to lodging.
Ecaul — an intensive-type hybrid, highly responsive to high agronomic practices and starter fertilizers. Under high cultivation standards and optimal soil-climatic conditions, it can achieve yields of 38–43 centners per hectare, with maximum recorded yields of 44.4 centners per hectare in North Ossetia and 41.0 centners per hectare in Lipetsk Oblast. The oil content of dry seeds is 50–51%, and the potential yield reaches 45–48 centners per hectare. Seeds are supplied in premium treatment with a complex of fungicides, ensuring plant protection and health.
The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Volga region, with proven resistance to diseases and pests. In field conditions, Ecaul shows moderate resistance to false powdery mildew and white rot, as well as minor infestations of gray and dry rot, Phomopsis, rust, and downy mildew. High oil content in seeds (about 52%) and stable yield make this hybrid attractive for agricultural production focused on obtaining high-quality oil and seeds.
