TFI 3540 A is a hybrid sunflower developed by the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops NS Seme in Novi Sad, Serbia. It is designed for cultivation using the Granstar (Sumo) technology and features high yield potential up to 55 t/ha with oil content of 51-53%. The hybrid's vegetation period is 105-107 days, and plant height reaches 175-195 cm, which ensures optimal conditions for high yield formation.
The hybrid exhibits resistance to 7+ strains of parasitic plant Striga (vovchka) and to all strains of downy mildew. Additionally, TFI 3540 A demonstrates tolerance to a wide range of diseases, including downy mildew, gray mold, powdery mildew, fusarium, rust, gray rot, septoria, fomosis, and alternaria. It is also resistant to drought and cold, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions.
For weed control, herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl, such as Granstar, Sumo, and Express, at a dosage up to 50 g/ha are recommended. This technology allows effective weed control without restricting crop rotation. Thanks to these characteristics and agronomic recommendations, TFI 3540 A is a high-yielding and resilient sunflower hybrid suitable for obtaining high-quality oilseed.
