Sunflower Baikal

Consistent performance in challenging conditions

Selecting the «Baikal» sunflower hybrid from the Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute is a pragmatic choice for farmers operating in regions with inconsistent moisture levels. Developed by experts at the agricultural center in General Toshevo, this hybrid is designed to deliver predictable yields even when faced with significant climatic stress.

Field-tested agronomic potential

«Baikal» is a preferred choice for sowing in areas where early-stage vigor and resilient head development are crucial. In the field, the hybrid shows strong initial growth, effectively shading the rows quickly. This trait helps minimize soil moisture evaporation and provides a significant competitive advantage against weed pressure.

• Crop rotation versatility: The hybrid adapts well to various soil types, making it a flexible asset for farms with diverse land structures.
• Crop protection: The breeding expertise from the Dobrudzha Institute ensures high resistance to common regional pathogens, which helps reduce the need for excessive fungicide applications.
• Harvesting efficiency: The stalks of the «Baikal» hybrid are robust, minimizing the risk of lodging even in cases of late maturity or challenging weather conditions during the harvest window.

Real-world application shows that «Baikal» reaches its full genetic potential when sown at the optimal density recommended by the originator. This is a reliable choice for producers who value the precision of European breeding programs and are looking for stability in their intensive farming operations.
