Description JASIEK
JASIEK — this is a classic diploid sugar beet hybrid, designed for high yields and increased sugar content. Plants are characterized by single-stemmed growth, strong early growth, and uniformity in growth rate and habit. Roots contain 17–18.3% sugar, with yields reaching 45–87.5 tons per hectare. The hybrid is resistant to major diseases, including root rot, cercospora, rhizomania, and powdery mildew, ensuring stable and high-quality harvests. The recommended plant density before harvest is 85–115 thousand plants per hectare, which is optimal for maximum productivity.

The crop is heat-loving and heat-tolerant, with an optimal growth and development temperature of 20–22°C, although photosynthesis effectively proceeds even at temperatures above 40°C. Sugar beet JASIEK is highly demanding in terms of water, especially during seed germination and intensive root growth in July–August. Due to its well-developed root system capable of absorbing water from depths of up to 2.5 meters, the hybrid exhibits good drought tolerance. However, the crop does not tolerate high soil acidity and develops better at pH 6.5–7.5, positively responding to liming.

Seeding is recommended at a depth of 6–7 cm when soil temperature reaches 6–8°C. Seeds are sown at a rate of 1.2–1.8 seeding units per hectare, equivalent to 100 thousand seeds per seeding unit and a density of 10 seeds per square meter. The hybrid is suitable for early planting and cultivation in various climatic zones, including the forest-steppe, steppe, and lowland areas. Prior to harvest, sugar beet JASIEK can withstand frosts down to -5°C without damaging sugar accumulation, thereby expanding harvest opportunities.
